mini2 Family Poems
To my father on my 50th birthday
mini2

What can I say
before you go away
you,
who came home tired
every night
from the fight,
in times of strife,
when bread was scarce
and Jews where chased
from many places.

Talk, my father, talk,
before it is to late.
Speak to your son
instead, of from him, run.
Put an end
to this unnatural state;
my abnormality
could be a sign of higher wisdom,
of future consciousness,
of a prophet's faith.
Look at the heart
and not the hair;
the mind,
and not
the overcoat.

Let's together
take the boat
side by side,
through life's river,
paddling equally,
we could glide.
